• Only those 18 & over will be able to drive the hospitality cart please, for insurance reasons.

• Volunteers are to work two (2) four (4) hour shifts to get an adult all weekend camping pass to Smiling Acres Music Festival.
• Along with your ticket, you get a volunteer shirt and meal passes to be redeemed at the Sunshine Café only. Meals will be pre-determined by staff.
• Please see Smiling Acres Music Festival rules for volunteers before signing up for a volunteer position. Failure to meet expectations could result in being expelled from the festival and banned from  volunteering for SAMF.
• SAMF Background Check Policy and Volunteer Rules

A brief description of each station is below.  Please note, this may not be an all inclusive list.  When our volunteer coordinator contacts you, they will be able to more fully explain.

• Main Gate: (runs from Friday 8:30 am-Sunday 4:30pm) Selling tickets, assisting with entrance and exits, passing wrist bands, assisting with parking/camping questions. Handing out maps and schedule of events. (18+ only please, unless working with a parent, or older sibling/family member)
• Parking lot attendee: Direct day parking, walking campground making sure cars/campers/trailers are pointed in the correct direction. Assisting with gates if/when needed.
• Kids Area: Assisting with crafts, setting up/packing crafts.
• Sanitation: Keeping the grounds picked up in the campground and festival area. Pulling full garbage bags/replacing bags, pulling recycling bags/replacing bags, helping dump garbage into dumpster. Make sure eating area is kept clean, sinks are kept full of water and soap, porta-jons have sanitizer and toilet paper.
• Smiling Acres General Store: Sell items at the store, help with till, help assist festival goers with festival merch, snacks, drinks, and other items.
• Artist Merch: Assist with organizing and selling of artist merch, help with storing merch if SAMF is locking it up overnight, assist with inventory.
• Hospitality Cart: Must be 18+. Drive around festival grounds assisting festival goers to destinations on festival grounds. May be asked to assist artists and/or stage.

Volunteer Positions for SAMF 2023. Please check at minimum 4 choices, you are required to fill at least 2 time slots. Please note: These are not guaranteed positions; your vendor coordinator will be in direct contact with you!!

• The volunteer understands the services provided will be a donation and under no circumstances will expect wages, salary, or benefits from the organization for the services provided within this volunteer agreement.
• The Volunteer understands they are under no terms considered an employee of the Smiling Acres Music Festival
• The Volunteer agrees to indemnify and hold the Organization harmless against any damages related to the Volunteer’s activity. Additionally, the Organization shall hold the Volunteer harmless against any damages related to the Volunteer’s service.
• I authorize Smiling Acres Music Festival (SAMF) to photograph or film me and consent to the use of my likeness and image in any and all publications, educational materials, research, marketing, advertising, news media, and Web materials. I understand and agree that such materials, including all negatives, positives, digital images, and prints shall become and remain the sole property of SAMF and I shall have no right or title to such items. I agree that SAMF does not owe me any compensation for the acts that I have consented to in this agreement. I further understand and agree that these materials may be kept on file and used by SAMF for potential future purposes and further agree to release SAMF from any and all liability arising from or in connection with the taking, use, publication, or dissemination of such materials.
• I authorize SAMF to run a background check with the information I have voluntarily provided. I understand that the information provided will be used for no other reason.

BACKGROUND CHECK PERMISSION Please Read Before Signing: I have been provided a copy of SAMF’s Background Clearance Policy. I understand that a background check will be conducted for conviction information only, and that the existence of a criminal record will not necessarily affect my volunteer status. Automatic review of status will commence upon the finding of any criminal history within the preceding ten (10) years of any form of violence, assault, domestic violence, or abuse against children. • I understand that I am giving my permission for the Smiling Acres Music Festival to institute a background check on me. • I understand that the results of this check will be held in the strictest confidence, and access to this information will be limited within the Smiling Acres Music Festival. • I understand that I have the right to revoke this consent, in writing, at any time. • I hereby release the Smiling Acres Music Festival, its’ employees, agents, and contractors, from any and all liability whatsoever, arising out of this request to consent to a criminal background check, and any decisions made concerning my application to be a volunteer, based on the results of this background check.
